Covid-19 Blame Game

Covid-19 Blame Game

With the global terror starting in China, many people want to condemn anyone of Asian descent for creating the physical and economic devastation we all face. The human condition is still in a depressed ancient state of mind when enough individuals can cause visible minorities in North America to quiver with fear. How can these people believe that abusing innocent beings cure their own feelings of stress and anxiety while solving the original problem? It is an immature, low intellect and narrow-minded belief strategy.

We’ve learned of Asian-American’s having been alarmed enough for their families safety that they are purchasing guns, claim that they themselves don’t belong here and worse of all; lose all faith in anyone who doesn’t share the same cultural descent as them. When are we as a race going to learn that real and verbal violent outbursts obviously add on to the existing situation? Most of us have a natural instinct that swells rage at the outset of pain whether it’s physical or mental but clearly the psychological education of the world over is severely lacking. I think a big part of the problem is parents and adults who role-model and allow children to continue with eye for an eye way of living.

The theory which is most likely fact that “THE” virus originated in China, has the rest of civilization pointing an accusatory finger at them. It may be where it started but no country can point anything without first looking inward to their own indiscretions. With the amount of unsafe exploration of anything we can imagine including biology, it is simply a matter of bad luck to where it started. The pity we should have for China is how blindsided they were. In other countries, especially North America, we had time to adjust for the onslaught. Unfortunately nobody including yours truly wanted to believe that it was possible for it to alter our way of life so drastically. Do all viruses hitting the world every year originate in China? Unlikely. If all viruses did originate in China you would have to believe they would be accustomed to fighting off surprise attacks on their citizens from invisible microbes.

What really becomes baffling is how absurd people can be by getting angry with any Asian person they come across in a melting pot society. Do they think those poor souls purposely planted the disease to completely mess up the entire world? A couple problems come to mind with that scenario. First one; they would have to have gone to China, plant it and then come back. It seems like a lot of extra work for someone who has most likely been spending all their time working in the melting pot to support and enjoy their family. The second problem is that what are the odds that they are even Chinese? There are many other Asian cultures that are not. It just proves my point how simple minded these attackers are. We all know that they don’t want to think logically, they just want to feed their dopamine’s by abusing anyone or anything they feel justified imposing their will on. It comes down to poor upbringing and lack of maturity.

My next issue is what would most countries or individuals do if the entire world was pointing the blame directly at them for the largest natural disaster in generations? That kind of pressure muddles the mind and makes a defensive posture hard to overcome. If what we want out of any problem is answers so we never have to deal with it empty handed again. How do we think alienation is a good way to gain those answers? With a lot of countries around the world, the free flow of information is met with extreme skepticism to begin with, putting them into a more self-protective stance is damaging to every lifeform on this sphere moving into the future. What I want to know is how do we extend a supportive hand and build a relationship of trust and understanding? This should be the goal of every human being on the planet.

Those who don’t understand this way of thinking need to be taught. The education systems around the world have had their curriculums brought into question even though they have made massive changes in the past few decades with a bigger emphasis on the health of our ecosystem. If the state of our globe goes the way scientist have deduced it will, then what is now primary won’t even be secondary. You would want to believe that developing an increasing ripple effect of mental stability should be a very high priority to get past all the damage created by naivety. We have allowed status quo to rule and look where it got us. We can’t afford to let it continue.

My most pressing question is how do we move past blaming everyone and start working together to solve what is the balancing system that will allow us to live on this planet comfortably the way it has always been for as long as we want to? I certainly don’t have the answers, but neither does any one person. It is going to take a group effort with complete buy in by absolutely everyone. Without an overhaul of everyone’s philosophical outlook on life it is never going to happen.

The world we lived in pre-covid-19 was a runaway train that none of the passengers onboard had a clue how to stop. When do we realize that the existence we are growing into with technology and the volume of population is one community? Whether we like it or not, the velocity we are already traveling down the tracks is going to take us off a cliff soon unless we all open up and come together. Pointing a finger at anyone and blaming them is only going to close them up, slow the intellectual evolution of our species and speed up the train.
